The beatitudes come from the Gospel of Matthew. This would be option #2.
The beatitudes are the 8 blessings which reflect one’s character in Christ. An example of one of these beatitudes is:
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
This beatitude is pointed toward conflict and means people should do what they can to make peace and not war.
