In the film Abby kisses Proctor. This does not happen in the play. Why do you think the directors chose to add in this kiss? How does this change your interpretation of Abby's character and Proctor's character?

Answer: I feel like the director added the kiss to spice things up.

Explanation: The kiss changes the perspective on the character. But it shows the audience that Abby was oddly and obsessively lusting over the man while he was making a sincere attempt to get over her.
