This experiment has the purpose to prove which biomolecule in viruses actually causes infection if are proteins (viral cap) or genetic material (DNA or RNA), as we can see it was proven that is actually the genetic material is the one that is transmitted and causes infection in the new host by making it to reproduce new viruses.
