As the path is 3ft wide, then to fence the garden and path we have to calculate the perimeter of the red rectangle, which can be done with the following formula:

P=2b+2h

where P is the perimeter, b is the base and h is the height. In our case, we have to calculate these parameters for the red rectangle:

b=30+3+3=36
h=47+3+3=53

Now, we can replace these values in the formula of P:

P=2\cdot36+2\cdot53
P=72+106
P=178

Answer: 178m
