we have the system of equations

6x − 5y = -4 ------> equation 1

4x + 2y = 28 -----> equation 2

To remove the variable y

Multiply the equation 1 by 2 and multiply the equation 2 by 5

then

adds both equations to remove the variable y

so

2[6x − 5y = -4] ----------> 12x-10y=-8

5[4x + 2y = 28 ] --------> 20x+10y=140

adds both equations

12x-10y=-8

20x+10y=140

______________

32x=132

x=132/32

x=4.125

substitute the value of x in any equation to calculate the value of y
