The proportion between the first measures is:


(45)/(27)

Now, if we want to maintain the same proportion we need that the second map fullfils:


(12)/(x)

Equating this proportions and solving for x we have:


\begin{gathered} (45)/(27)=(12)/(x) \\ x=(12)/((45)/(27)) \\ x=(36)/(5) \\ x=7.2 \end{gathered}

Therefore the width would be 7.2 cm
