Explanation

Metals are ductile because of the ability of the atoms to roll over each other into new positions without breaking the metallic bond.

Metals are ductile also because the delocalized electrons are free to move. The metallic bond is formed by the electrostatic attraction between the positively charged ions of the atom of the metal and the negatively delocalized electron.
