The formula of the area of a trapezoid is

A=((B+b)\cdot h)/(2)

where

B and b are the bases and the height is h

in our case we have

B= 8in

b=5 in

h=4 in

we substitute the values in the formula

A=((8+5)\cdot4)/(2)=26in^2
