A number with an absolute value of 42 was divided by a number with an absolute value of 7. The quotient is -6. Write two possible numeric equations

Let

x,the number

y, the other number

\begin{gathered} \left|x\right|=42 \\ \left|y\right|=7 \\ (\left|x\right|)/(\left|y\right|)=-6 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} \left|x\right|=x,\text{ if x}\ge0\text{ and , } \\ \left|x\right|=-x\text{ if x}<0 \\ and \\ \left|y\right|=\text{ y if y }\ge0 \\ \left|y\right|=-\text{y if y}<0 \end{gathered}

step 2, write the equations

\begin{gathered} (x)/(y)=-6\text{, if x}>0\text{ and y}<0 \\ (x)/(y)=\text{ -6, if x}<0\text{ and y}>0 \end{gathered}

and that's all, it is the answer
