We have


7x-3=4-5x

so


\begin{gathered} 7x-3+5x=4-5x+5x \\ (7x+5x)-3=4 \end{gathered}

Then


\begin{gathered} (7x+5x)-3=4 \\ 12x-3=4 \\ 12x=4+3 \\ 12x=7 \\ x=(7)/(12) \end{gathered}

The answer is x = 7/12
