Why are humans not capable of breathing underwater?

• Respiratory physiology informs us that humans depend on the supply of oxygen in order to maintain energy and oxidation in the body.

• When the supply of oxygen is reduced, it leads to a reduced oxidation process in our bodies , inside water there is little supply of oxygen.

This will result in reduced normal activity of a person and could ultimately lead to death. the lack of oxygen supply could lead to comma and death.
