Problem solvingEric has some nickels. He says they are worth exactly 34 cents. Can you tell if Eric is correct or not? Why or why not?

Answer: eric is wrong

SOLUTION:

1 nickel = 5 cents

Let say Eric has 7 nickels = (7 X 5) = 35 cents.

Eric said his nickels are worth exactly 34 cent.

(i) Eric is NOT correct.

(ii) Because 34 is not a multiple of 5.
