CSF is produced by choroid plexus in the lateral and fourth ventricles. Arachnoid villi act as one way valves. If the CSF pressure is below the venous pressure, the arachnoid villi will not allow blood to pass through the ventricular system.

Absorption of CSF toward the blood stream takes place in the superior sagittal sinus called arachnoid villi.
