We will have that Absolute Value is the magnitude of a value and is denotated as follows:

| x | : The absolute value of x.

When we speak about magnitude we refer just to possitive values. For example:

*The absolute value of 3:

| 3 | = 3

*The absolute value of -45:

| -45 | = 45

From this, we can clearly see that we "keep the number" but not the sign.
