We have to consider that almost all the human body cells contain 46 chromosomes, or 23 pairs of them because they are diploid cells, in other words, they contain 2 loads of chromosomes (2n), each from each parent. Whilst, we know that gamete cells, such as sperm and ovules have a only load of these chromosomes (n), in humans each gamete has 23 pairs of chromosomes, as we can see in the first answer option.
