The the part of the ear that is responsible for collecting sound is the auricle. It is also referred to as pinna. Sound waves are being collected in the pinna and carried to the ear canal that is responsible for amplifying the sound. The sound waves thereby move to the eardrum which is located at the end of the ear canal.

The ear drum is where the sound vibrate. The ear canal is a passage leading to the eardrum which composed of the outer, middle, and inner ear.
