William walked around 2 rectangular parks. One measures 33.4 meters by 36.2 meters and the other measures 51.4 meters by 22.7 meters. How far did he walk?

The total distance William walked is the perimeter of the two rectangular parks

Explanations:

Perimeter of rectangule = 2( L + B)

Perimeter of the first rectangular park = 2(36.2 + 33.4)

=2(69.6)

=139.2 meters

Perimeter of the secondrectangular park = 2(51.4 + 22.7)

= 2(74.1)

=148.2 meters

William walked 139.2 + 148.2 = 287.4 meters
