For a classroom demonstration, a Chemistry teacher puts 5 mL of water into a softplastic pop bottle and, with tongs, holds it in a hot water bath for 1 minute. Theteacher removes the bottle and tightly screws on the cap.• Describe what will happen to the pop bottle as it cools.• Use the Kinetic Molecular Theory to explain the predicted observation

Step-by-step explanation

Water into a soft plastic pop bottle and with tongs holds it in a hot water bath for 1 minute then water is heated , that means temperature increases. Thus, according to Kinetic Molecular Theory, an increase in temperature will increase the average kinetic energy of the molecules. As the water molecules move faster, they will likely hit the edge of the pop bottle more often. Similarly, as the pop bottle cools, the temperature decreases and thus kinetic energy of water molecules decreases with decrease in temperature.
