Answer: y = 8

To find slope using the given x and y coordinates, you use y2-y1/x2-x1.

if x1 = -1 and x2 = 1 and y2 = -2
and slope (m) = 3

1 -(-1) = 2

You have to figure out what minus 2 gets you to 6, if you need to end up dividing 6 by 2 to equal the slope (m) which is 3.

8 - 2 = 6
6/2 = 3
