Answer: Mitosis. Mitosis ends with two complete cells. Meiosis ends with either four sperm cells or a single egg cell (and the other 3/4 of the material dies and is used as food by what is left).

So growing new cells to repair tissue in the body is mitosis, not an example of meiosis.
