What is a simple way to solve a+3(a-1)=3(2+a)

I don't just want the answer, I want to know how to easily solve it because I still haven't understood that stuff

a=9

Explanation:

a + 3(a - 1) = 3(2 + a)

a + 3a -3 = 6 + 3a

a - 3 = 6

a = 6 + 3

a = 9
