To answer this question we will isolate the variable w.

Adding like terms in the given equation we get:

5w+16=9w-12.

Adding 12 to the above equation we get:

\begin{gathered} 5w+16+12=9w-12+12, \\ 5w+28=9w. \end{gathered}

Substracting 5w from the above result we get:

\begin{gathered} 5w+28-5w=9w-5w, \\ 28=4w. \end{gathered}

Dividing the above result by 4 we get:

\begin{gathered} (28)/(4)=(4w)/(4), \\ 7=w. \end{gathered}

Answer:

w=7.
