A nondisjunction is a mistake in the chromosome segregation during cell division, whether it is meiosis or mitosis. The result of this is a cell with an anormal amount of genetic material, what can lead to different diseases and syndromes. An example of this is cancer, depending on the types of genes that are missing or repeted in the cell formed with a nondisjunction.
