we are given a point that lies on a line that passes through the origin. The general equation of a line that passes through the origin is:

y=mx

Where "m" is the slope of the line. To find the slope we plug into the equation the known values of "x" and "y" given by the point that lies on the line, that is: (4,5), this means that when "x = 4", then "y = 5", replacing we get:

5=m(4)

Solving for "m", we get:

m=(5)/(4)

therefore, the slope of the line is 5/4
