(4x^2-2x+1)-(5x^2-7x-5)

First we will multiplicate the sign minus with the trinomial (5x^2 – 7x - 5 )


4x^2-2x+1-5x^2+7x+5

then we can sum like terms and we obtain the solution


-x^2+5x+6
