We have to solve the equation

-(1)/(4)(x+2)+5=-x

So we are going to let the variable x in one side of the equation and the constants (the numbers) in the other, but fisrt we open the parentheses

\begin{gathered} -(1)/(4)x-(2)/(4)+5=-x \\ \\ -(1)/(4)x-(1)/(2)+5=-x \end{gathered}

Now we can solve for x

\begin{gathered} -(1)/(4)x+x-(1)/(2)+5=-x+x \\ \\ (3)/(4)x+(9)/(2)=0 \\ \\ (3)/(4)x+(9)/(2)-(9)/(2)=-(9)/(2) \\ \\ (3)/(4)x=-(9)/(2) \\ \\ x=(4)/(3)\cdot(-(9)/(2)) \end{gathered}

So we have that

x=-(36)/(6)=-6

So the answer is x = - 6.
