Given a point (x,y) on the coordinate plane, the following are the transformation rules in translation.

Case 1

If you translate a point left by k units, we have the transformation rule:

`(x,y)\rightarrow(x-k,y)`

Case 2

If you translate a point left by k units, we have the transformation rule:

`(x,y)\rightarrow(x-k,y)`
