Total street lights: 60

Streets lights that need to be replaced: 24

Lights that not need to be replaced:

Total lights- lights that need to be replaced:

60-24 = 36 lights do not need to be replaced.

Percentage:

The Total number of lights multiplied by the percentage of not replaced lights in decimal (x) form must be equal to 36.

60x=36

Solve for x:

x =36/60

x= 0.6

Multiply by 100 to obtain the percentage:

0.6 x 100 = 60%
