Solve. Write the solution set in interval notation.

-2x > -8 and - 3x < 24

-2x > -8

divide both sides by -2

x < 4

And -3x < 24

divide both sides by -3

So, x > -8

So, x < 4 and x > -8

it can be written -8 < x < 4

So, the interval of solution is ( -8 , 4 )

and can be represented on the line of numbers as shown at the following figure :
