Explain how photosynthesis and cellular respiration are chemically opposite.

So photosynthesis requires energy from sunlight, water and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in the presence of chlorophyll to produce glucose and release oxygen as by product.

That is: 6CO2+6H2O——————>C6H12O6+6O2

Respiration,on the other hand,requires oxygen to breakdown glucose in order to release energy, oxygen and water vapor.

That is: 6O2+C6H12O6—>6CO2+6H20+ATP
