Recall that to evaluate an expression at a given value, we substitute the variable by the given value.

Substituting q=10500 in the given expression we get:

8\cdot10500+242000.

Simplifying the above sum we get:

84000+242000=326000.

Answer: It will cost them 326000 dollars to produce 10500 items.
