We have the next system of equations

\begin{gathered} y=x-2\ldots(1) \\ 2x+y=1\ldots(2) \end{gathered}

First we need to clear y of the second equation.

y=-2x+1

then we will evaluate some points in order to graph the line

For the first equation

x y

-3 -5

-2 -4

-1 -3

0 -2

1 -1

2 0

3 1

For the second equation

x y

-3 7

-2 5

-1 3

0 1

1 -1

2 -3

3 -5

We will graph these points and we will obtain the next graph

where the red line is the first equation and the blue line is the second equation.

the solution of the system of equations is where the lines intercept each other

as we can see the solution is the point green (1-1)
