how do we communicate location on the human body, and why is it not feasible to simply use the terms "up/down" and above/below"?

We communicate location on the human body by listing out organs or parts of the body such as organs like the "liver", bones like the "fibula", and parts of the body like the "arm." Using terms like up/down or above/below are not feasible at all because there are so many parts of the body.
