The slope between two points is given by:


m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Then:


\begin{gathered} m=(-2-4)/(8-4) \\ =-(6)/(6) \\ =-1 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the slope between the points is -1.
