How did the hopi tribe adapt to their environment?

They built “wind breakers” in the fields to help retain soil and moisture. They also garden on irrigated terraces along the mesa walls below their villages.They did this to be able to produce corn, beans, squash, melons, and other crops in an unforgiving landscape.
