The range is given for the comparison between the smallest and largest value from the set of data, in this case:


\text{Range}=196-190=6

The standar deviation is given for the following formula:


S=\sqrt[]{\frac{\sum ^n_(i=1)(x_i-\bar{x})^2}{n-1}}

In this case the standart deviation is 2.
