Given:

3x + 1 < 10

Solve:

Subtract 1 from both sides:

3x + 1 - 1 < 10 - 1

3x < 9

Divide both sides by 3:


\begin{gathered} (3x)/(3)<(9)/(3) \\ \\ x<3 \end{gathered}

Graph x<3:

ii) -2y + 22 < 10

SUbtract 22 from both sides:
