Given the vertex form of a quadratic equation as

y+k=(x-h)^2

Write the equation given in the question in vertex form

\begin{gathered} y=3x^2+12x-14 \\ y+14=3x^2+12x \\ y+14=3(x^2+4x) \\ y+14+3(4)=3(x^2+4x+4) \end{gathered}

Hence, the number she is missing from both sides of the equation is 4
