Given the equation :

x^4+4x^2+4=0

By factoring the given equation :

\begin{gathered} x^4+4x^2+4=(x^2+2)(x^2+2)=(x^2+2)^2 \\ So, \\ (x^2+2)^2=0 \\ x^2+2=0 \\ x^2=-2 \\ x=\pm\sqrt[]{-2}=\pm i\sqrt[]{2} \end{gathered}

so,

\begin{gathered} x=i\sqrt[]{2} \\ or \\ x=-i\sqrt[]{2} \end{gathered}
