Jack has three slabs of beeswax (that weight 8.2lb, 8.1lb and 8.9lb) he planes to melt them and use all the wac to form 36 candles if all the candles are the same size and weight how many much will each candle weigh use reasoning to decide.

When jack melts the three slabs of beeswax he gets:


8.2+8.1+8.9=25.2

Then, to make 36 candles of the same size and weight, we divide 25.2 by that number:


(25.2)/(36)=0.7

therefore, each candle will weight 0.7 lb
