The distance traveled in 1 second is 40 ft

Here, we want to get the distance traveled in 1 second

From the question, we are told that the rate of movement is constant

From the plot, we have it that in 2 seconds, 80 ft was traveled; in 3 seconds, 120 ft was traveled

Thus, the distance traveled per second is the distance traveled divided by time

We can use any of the points for this but the formula to use is same as we divide the distance by the time

We have this as;

\frac{80\text{ ft}}{2\text{ sec}}\text{ = 40 ft/sec}
