Retroviruses are those viruses that possess the enzyme retrotranscriptase.

Normally, DNA is transcribed into RNA and RNA is translated into protein.

However, retroviruses with the help of retrotranscriptase can produce DNA from RNA.

One example of a retrovirus is HIV
