The triangle given on the problem is a right triangle, therefore we can apply the trigonometric relations to determine the angle. For this triangle we were given the length of both cathetus, so we can use the tangent formula which is shown below:

\tan x=\frac{opposite\text{ cathetus}}{near\text{ cathetus}}

Applying the data for the problem we have:

\tan x=(14)/(8)=1.75

Now we need to calculate the inverse of the tangent, also called as arc tangent.

x=\arctan (1.75)=60.3ΒΊ

The angle measures 60.3 degrees.
