a factor is the number that multiplies a measure to convert it into another, so 8 multiplied by the factor gives 18

so

8* x=18

where x is the factor, now solve x

\begin{gathered} 8* x=18 \\ x=(18)/(8)=(9)/(4) \end{gathered}

the factor is 9/4
