Great white sharks can be found in both nearshore coastal waters and offshore pelagic waters. Abiotic factors that affect the survival of these organisms are water temperature and salinity. These organisms is well adapted in cold water. The salinity of water is greatly affecting sharks because they should retain sait inside their body. Their cells will rupture that will lead to bloating and death without salt. Biotic factors affecting their survival are the abundance of their prey. If there is overfishing, their prey will decrease in numbers thereby affecting their food supply. Habitat destruction and climate change will also pose severe threats to their survival.
