We will first need to find the LCM, then, we will divide the LCM by each denominator then multiply the result of each by its numerator and then finally we add the numerators

That is;

`=(5)/(6)`

Hence 1/2 + 1/3 is not equal 2/5 rather 1/2 + 1/3 is equal 5/6
