Example for division

96 divided by 8

start from the left digit in 96 which is 9

9/8, since 8 x 1 = 8 and 8 is the nearest number to 9, then

9/8 = 1 but there is a remainder which is the difference between 9 and 8, then

9/8 = 1 R 1

we will take the remainder and put it with the 2nd digit of 96 which is 6 to be 16

Then divide 16 by 8

Since 8 x 2 = 16, then

16/8 = 2

Then the answer of 96/8 is 12
