Photosynthesis is a process that uses carbon dioxide and water to make glucose and oxygen. This takes place in the chloroplast of the cell found in the leaves of an autotrophs.

Cellular respiration is a process in which the glucose made in photosynthesis gets broken down into usable energy called ATP. This takes place in the mitochondria of the cell. Both autotrophs and heterotrophs have this organelle.
