The numbers on a six sided die are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Odd numbers are numbers that cannot divide 2 completely. Thus, the odd numbers here are 1, 3 and 5

Probability is expressed as

Number of favourable outcomes/total number of possible outcomes

The total number of possible outcomes is 6

The number of favourable outcomes is 3

Thus, the probability of rolling an odd number is

3/6 = 1/2

Thus, if the die is rolled 242 times, then the number of times you would expect an odd number to appear is

1/2 * 242 = 121 times
