In the standard (x, y) coordinate plane below, the points (0,0), (10,0), (13,6), and (3,6) are the vertices of a parallelogram. What is the area, in square coordinate units, of the parallelogram?

For this case we can do the following:

We can find the individual areas and we got:


A_1=(3\cdot6)/(2)=9
A_2=7\cdot6=42
A_3=(3\cdot6)/(2)=9

The total area is given by:

At = 42+9+9 = 60
